Celebrate Acts of Kindness!
Here are some acts we are celebrating in 2022!
My coworker's car was in the shop and she needed to pick up a few things at the grocery store. So, she posted her request in our lab's Slack channel and someone offered to take her!
A faculty member volunteered to help with a research project, taking time to drive several hours and using evening and weekend free time to help a student who wouldn't have had other help.
Helping a co-worker get some work completed so they can leave a little early :)
My fellow PhD students in History are the most supportive group of colleagues - they share funding opportunities, conference deadlines, writing and editing advice and more. Rather than seeing each other as competitors, we thrive in a space of collaboration and support.
My professor has gone out of her way to find opportunities for me to obtain experiences that align with my career goals. She is so supportive and it is clear she wants me to be successful in the future.
Holly Thompson, program coordinator, was a rock star in helping me find information about the grad programs at MSU, apply, get registered, etc. I soooo appreciate her help!
