The Future is Now: Preparing Students for a World with Generative AI 
In Professional Business Communication we are testing strategies and methodologies to teach students how to harness GAI to its maximum advantage. Surprisingly, our semester began with a cohort of AI-naive students who were reserved and tenuous about using AI for coursework. Starting with baby steps, we are cultivating students’ curiosity and experimentation with GAI, while emphasizing ethical and practical considerations.

AI Efficiencies: Ways Educators can use Generative AI to Support Efficiencies and Productivity
This short presentation will address ways in which educators can use generative AI to support efficiencies and productivity. More specifically, the presentation will highlight ways in which K-12 educators and preservice teachers might use AI to drive learner engagement and more efficient processes in teaching and learning. Although the presentation will be framed in K-12 contexts, lessons will be applicable across educational spaces.

Exploring Ice Patch Archaeology with Chat GPT

Like it or not, Artificial Intelligence (a.k.a. AI) is on our doorstep. Rather than treating it as a nefarious agent, we tried to use it to expand our knowledge base and to catch it out with some fact-checking relative to what we’d learned in our course.  The exercise (written paper) involved four parts:  1) an initial question; 2) revision; 3) a second submission by a third party; and 4) a final version.
