Learn to select and evaluate livestock, give oral reasons and place classes of livestock. The goal of livestock judging is to compare your perception of an animal against the ideal and then to contrast your opinion with another individual or a group.

In this project, youth learn to evaluate animals based on structure, performance, and overall quality while building critical-thinking and decision-making skills. They develop confidence in communicating their ideas by giving oral reasons and explaining their rankings.

Check with the MSU Extension office for appropriate guidelines for project completion and achievement recognition.
