Many people think of the SUB as the living room or the hearthstone of the campus. Its uses are as varied as the people who gather here. The MSU Bookstore, Exit Gallery, KGLT radio, numerous eateries, meeting rooms, and conference services. It also houses the Office of Admissions and offices for student government, student activities and special support programs are all under this roof.

The building was named for A.L. Strand, the first MSU alumnus to become president, 1937-42.
