- AI Policy -
- “Using artificial intelligence tools, automated systems, or similartechnologies in a manner that violates course or assignment requirements, misrepresents authorship, substitutes for a student’s own work, orundermines the assessment of learning. This includes failureto disclose AI use when disclosure is required or using AI tools where suchuse is prohibited.”
-
-
- From Karen Dove/Sophia Bielsky: is the AI policy well known?
- Depends on prof/syllabus, staying up to date with MUS goals
- Using "AI" rather than specific companies (ChatGPT, etc.) to name the technology in general
- Question from Julian: what is the procedure for a student to defend themselves?
- Prof calls meeting with student to discuss alleged violation
- If student disagrees, student can go to department head
- If unresolved (no ADDED sanctions by DH), goes to Dean of Students Office
- Assistant Deans manage the process from there on (Erin MacDonald Peck)
- Academic Misconduct Process: CLICK HERE FOR ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT @ MSU
- Side Chat: Dealing with AI in the classroom
