The Department of Mathematical Sciences’ Coordinator of Statistical Resources provides assistance for Montana State University faculty, staff, and researchers by identifying potential statistical resources for consulting and collaboration. Potential resources may include faculty (and/or their graduate students) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, other researchers at Montana State University who have indicated their availability, graduate students in a statistical consulting course, and other external resources such as the statistical consulting services with the Institute of Translational Health Services (ITHS) or the INBRE Data Science Core.

Statistical Consulting Seminar: Graduate students in Statistics M.S. Program take the hands-on Statistical Consulting Seminar Course (STAT 510) as a part of their graduate program. The faculty instructor and the enrolled graduate students provide consulting services for selected projects through this class. Typically, the Statistical Consulting Seminar serves graduate students in other departments (as the clients) who are willing to work through the slower and free-of-charge process offered through this avenue. This is a great opportunity for graduate students from different departments across campus to participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration (the course, however, is only for Statistics graduate students).
