The Science Math Resource Center partners each summer with School Services of Montana to offer a three-day Professional Development Conference for K-12 Montana teachers to expand their knowledge and understanding of STEM disciplines and access STEM resources for the classroom.

Montana educators travel from across the state to attend the conference on the MSU-Bozeman campus and enjoy keynote speakers, break-out workshops, networking opportunities, and exhibitions.

The STEM Summer Institute will be hosted Aug. 3-5, 2026 at Montana State University

This year’s conference offers opportunities for STEM learning across disciplinary lenses and at different grade levels in the following strands:
  • Discovering STEM Learning Through Data
  • Future of AI and Technology in STEM
  • Mathematics: The Language that Powers STEM
  • Place-Based & Environmental STEM
  • STEM Careers, Pathways, and Industry Connections
You’ll leave the STEM Summer Institute with new resources (including a network of educators), fresh ideas and resources, up to 15 professional development units, and next steps to create powerful, future-ready learning experiences for your students!
