Year-end Financials
Each club (and all other chartered 4-H group) must complete the following at the end of each 4-H year. The 4-H year runs October 1 - September 30.
What Is The Annual 1% Fee?
The 1% is an annual fee of a county’s total monetary assets at the end of a fiscal year, in regard to their Montana 4-H Clubs and Councils, that fall under the umbrella of the Montana 4-H Foundation GEN (Group Exemption Number). The GEN indicates source of nonprofit status. This includes activity and event funds, as well as Managed Agency Accts held with M4HF. A one-time 1% fee will apply to grants and holdings for major building/maintenance projects. No fee will be assessed for endowments or scholarships.
This annual fee supports clubs and councils in maintaining nonprofit status through Montana 4-H.
Training: How to Fill Out The YEFS Report
- If your club does not have any financial accounts, you must still complete a YEFS report showing that you have a zero balance. All forms must still be signed. This certifies that your club does not have any accounts.
- If your club has multiple financial accounts (ie: checking, savings, CD’s) under one EIN, you can add all balances together and fill out one report
