The CBME Welcomes a New Director

Dr. Rebecca Turk picture

We are pleased to announce Dr. Rebecca Turk as the new Director of the Center for Bilingual and Multicultural Education. Dr. Rebecca Turk holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, Foreign and Second Language Education and Master of Science in Multilingual/Multicultural Education. Additionally, she is a scholar with a research focus in Second Language Acquisition, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Language Mindsets, and Language Learning Motivation. She has over 11 years of experience as a K-12 ESOL and language teacher, curriculum developer, and program coordinator in the public school system at the state and district levels. She has also taught and developed curriculum in university teacher licensure and certification programs for over 10 years. Over the last three years at MSU, she has partnered with the Montana Office of Public Instruction, the American Indian Council, and various districts surrounding English Language Learner support and policy. With her role as Director at the CBME, she will continue to work closely with MSU and Montana community partners in partnership engagements, teacher training, parental involvment, and student support.
