- Garrett Wright: MSU GHG Scope 1 and 2 emissions are available for review under the Sustainability Framework website.
- Office of Sustainability: Online Communication and Reporting
- During the winter break, the Office of Sustainability responded to last fall’s public comment and student requests by preparing the first Zero Waste Report and publishing a greenhouse gas emissions page on the OS website. This reporting complements the STARS Report, which is usually published on a three year cycle. This spring, the OS is partnering with the Bracken Center, the Sustainable Food and Bioenergy Systems department, and the Center for Faculty Excellence to host three educational events.
- Engineering and Utilities: Scope 2 Communication
- Six strategies could be used to reduce Scope 2 emissions at MSU: Continue Electricity Reduction Projects, Obtain Full WAPA Electricity Allocation, Obtain RECs for WAPA Electricity, Purchase RECs for NW Energy Electricity, Purchase Renewable Electricity from NW Energy, and Generate Renewable Electricity on Campus. Variables like cost, impact, and feasibility will inform next steps.
- CSAC Working Session: Assess CSAC Charter
- The Office of Sustainability will create a SharePoint Folder for members of CSAC to offer examples of how the Charter has supported sustainability progress in recent years. These examples will inform future discussions to align the CSAC Charter with institutional planning efforts and identify what resources are available to support the incoming Director of Sustainability.
- Working Group Updates
- The Zero Waste Working Group reported a slight increase in the diversion rate compared to the previous fiscal year and noted the expansion of composting in additional campus spaces. A Zero Waste Report will be published on the Office of Sustainability website.
