Taking the First Step

The Human Development Clinic (HDC) provides a wide range of expert mental health counseling services using an affordable sliding scale fee structure. Our services are designed to increase access to quality mental health care in the Gallatin Valley and throughout Montana. We understand that taking the first step toward seeking support can be challenging. That's why we offer meeting times as early as 9am and as late as 8pm Monday to Thursday to help accommodate your schedule. Our PhD-level faculty members oversee all services, ensuring that you receive the highest quality care possible.

How It Works

Our scheduling process starts with a brief phone intake during which we will collect some information that will help us match you with an HDC counselor. We will then contact you to coordinate the completion of intake paperwork and schedule an intake session. At your intake session, you will meet your HDC counselor who will provide ongoing counseling services. Our goal is to support you throughout the process and we welcome you contacting us if you have questions at any point in this process.

Phone Intake

We understand that reaching out for support can be challenging. Our intake process is designed to be as simple and supportive as possible. During a brief phone call, we will ask you about your goals for counseling, a brief history, and scheduling availability. After you complete the phone intake, we will review your information and contact you to discuss scheduling. Please call us at 406.994.4113 to take the first step toward your mental health journey.

Intake Session

Our next step is to connect for a free meeting with one of our counselors, either in person or online. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to discuss your experience, history, and goals for counseling. This information is used to inform your counseling services and develop a plan for your counseling. Our team of counselors is here to support you throughout the process and we welcome you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Ongoing Counseling

Our weekly counseling services are tailored to your specific goals and needs. Our sliding scale fee structure ensures that our services are affordable and accessible to everyone. During the intake session, all fees are confirmed and are based on your income. Our goal is to create a supportive and welcoming environment where you can feel safe and comfortable.
