Undergraduate Administrative Assistant with Montana State University Food Product Development Lab

Description:

This role is a work-study position with the Montana State University Food Product Development Lab that is curated for an undergraduate student who can take on various administrative tasks, also preferably is currently enrolled in a food and nutrition, agriculture, or hospitality-related major. Responsibilities of this role include aiding the culinary team in emailing and scheduling industry project clients, as well as doing nutritional calculations, and hands-on kitchen trials. It also may include aiding in social media posting and content creation. This role requires, on average, 5-10 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  1. Send and respond to emails regarding scheduling and new client applications
  2. Update project progress spreadsheet as needed
  3. Aid in social media posting/content creation
  4. Collaborate with the culinary team to calculate nutritional values 
  5. Research nutrition-related content according to industry project needs (such as meeting the USDA school meal standards)
  6. Communicate with the Food Product Development team via in-person meetings, Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate Standing (part- or full-time)
  2. Well-versed in email etiquette and professional communication
  3. Ability and interest in helping with social media content and posting
  4. Ability to calculate basic nutritional values and support recipe reformulation to meet certain nutrient requirements
  5. Proficient at Microsoft Word and Excel
  6. Preferably, currently enrolled in either Dietetics or Nutrition Science, agriculture, hospitality, or related fields

Pay rate: 17-21/h
