Electrical Engineering

Develop a fundamental understanding of sophisticated electrical and electronic circuits and systems while exploring multidisciplinary design and programming to create new systems in a range of industries from health care to energy and entertainment.

Electrical Engineering – B.S. in Electrical Engineering; Minor

Electrical engineering graduates are key contributors at the frontier of science and engineering, using physics, electronics and electromagnetism to work with everything from nanotechnology to smart grids, inside human bodies to deep outer space. The Montana State electrical engineering program emphasizes hands-on laboratory work from EELE 101 through graduation. Electrical engineering students have access to state-of-the-art equipment and software, including electrical systems, advanced digital design, communications, control systems and even a fully functional microfabrication clean room facility. Needless to say, Montana State electrical engineering graduates have a great reputation for confidence and effectiveness in engineering design, analysis and troubleshooting.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering also offers a non-teaching minor in Electrical Engineering that provides interested students with an introductory understanding of electrical circuits, electronics, and properties of signals.
